Kickapoo Creek Winery

Updated: Jan 7, 2020

About twenty minutes outside of Peoria lies a hidden gem called Kickapoo Creek Winery. They are a small family owned winery and vineyard that opened in 2001 when a their small farm, turned nursery, then winery!

It was a beautiful day when my friend Karla and I visited the winery. We opted to sit outside on their beautiful terrace and enjoy live music, which they now do every Sunday! They had a great menu with a variety of options. I got the Chicken Salad Croissant with fruit ($8.50) and Karla got their Margarita Flat Bread with a side of fries. ($9.75)

We split a bottle of their Kickapoo Blush Rose ($14.50), which was perfect for nice day on the patio.

Black Velvet, a local duo, was playing outside during our lunch and they were great. They play popular songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's and the signer had such an amazing voice!

After lunch Karla and I did a tasting up at the bar. They offer five tastings for $5, and if want to keep the glass the tasting is $8.

You can also to a Leisure Flight, which is a tasting at your table, these are $9 and $12 if you want to keep the glass. I mean, who doesn't want to keep a cute little wine glass?! I tasted their Sun Kiss, a semi sweet white, Rory's Rosidae a pomegranate rose, St. Criox a dry red, Peche Blanc a peach white wine, and finished with their Chocolate Raspberry.

They were all excellent, but my favorites were the Rory's Rosidea and the St. Criox!!

There were a few others I wanted to try, but we'll save that for another time!

They had tons of cute little gifts, and bottles of wine for purchase in the tasting room as well.

Once we were finished in the tasting room we decided to walk around the grounds. It is a little late in the season, but the vineyard was still beautiful to walk through. And of course snap a few pics!

This popular Amazon bodysuit in a new favorite!! Its a nice think stretchy material and fits so well! I teeter between medium and large depending on brands and styles. After reading some reviews, I went with a large after and glad I did.

I finally bought a stiff felt hat and I will be wearing it all season, I love it. But what really makes this outfit, is my favorite kimono from Patrons of Piece! The best part I found it at Plato's Closet for only $15!!! Find links to these and the rest of my outfit below.
